Chennai: Tamil Nadu political sceneis abuzz with another rising star in Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi ( IJK ) which was floated today by SRM Group of Insitutions Founder and SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu.


.'' Speaking to reporters amidst the launch session of the party Mr Pachamuthu said the party was officially launched today and a state level conference would be held at Tiruchirapalli on May 29. in a sprawling 100 acre plot and over 10 lakh people converging on the occasion.


Mr Pachamuthu said it would be a National party.Stating that one need not necessarily have any political background to launch a political party, he said there was general impression that one should either have a money, or follow the tradition of their parents or family or render service to the people to start a party.


Mr Pachamuthu, who is the first educationist to take the political plunge, said the tendency to serve the people was enough to launch a political party.


He said that the party would face the forthcoming 2011 state elections either in association with some political party who respects the policies of the IJK or else they would stand alone.


Hoping to garner the support of the young generation Mr. Pachamuthu said that his party would strive hard to democratically face all the posers.


Announcing the policies of the party he added that the upliftment of the downtrodden in the main agenda and give them quality education so that that lifts automaticallyu the life style.


On a question on policies he said, "we would associate ourselves with people who respect us and in no way compromise on our policies"


Later he introduced the flag of the party.


On a question of equitable education he parried the question.


He introduced the office bearers of the party - Kovai Thambi - Former MLA - Executive President, P Jayaseelan, General Secretary and Senior Advocate G Rajan the Treasurer.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu political scene is going to witness another rising star in Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi ( IJK ) to be floated during mid year by SRM Group of Insitutions Founder and SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu.


The decision to take the political plunge by launching ''India Jananayaga Katchi'' (India Democratic Party).'' Speaking on the side lines of ''Milan-2010,'' the annual National level inter-collegiate cultural festival at SRM University at its campus in suburban Kattankulathur today, Mr Pachamuthu said the party would be officially launched at a function to be held at Tiruchirapalli on May 29.


Without elaborating further on his political plans, Mr Pachamuthu said it would be a National party.


He exhorted the students to enter politics and serve the country.


''By affiliating themselves with some political parties, the students should take the political plunge and do service to the people and serve the country,'' he added.


Stating that one need not necessarily have any political background to launch a political party, he said there was general impression that one should either have a money, or follow the tradition of their parents or family or render service to the people to start a party.


Mr Pachamuthu, who would be the first educationist to take the political plunge, said the tendency to serve the people was enough to launch a political party and recalled the vision of Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that students should enter politics to serve the country better. Since India would be having the youngest population in the world in the coming years, it would be wise for the students to enter politics and serve the people and country by affiliating with some political party or other.
